Summary:
Hollis Woods has never had a family.  She bounced around from so many foster homes she could hardly keep count.  She was named after the woods in which she was found abandoned and alone.  She is an artist and can draw nearly everything and does.  She finally finds a home, with a family named the Regan's.  They treated her like family and she treasured every moment with them.  However, when something big happened, she ran away as fast as she could because she couldn't bare to disappoint them  They never came for her so she assumed they didn't care.  That is why she now lives with Josie Cahil.  She is a beautiful artist.  However, she is a little odd.  Hollis soon falls in love with her and bare the thought of having to be separated because Ms. Josie is losing her mind.  The two take off and don't look back.  Well Hollis doesn't.  What happens to the pair? Will Hollis ever see the beloved Regan's again?  How will Josie's health be?  These are all questions Hollis ponders as she and Josie are snowed in at a cabin in the forest.

This is cute story of a little girl finding love, and family, and happiness.  She has to create it out of what she is given and that happens to be the Regan's and Josie.  It would be good for a leisure read for late elementary early middle grade students.
