Noelle is a young African American girl raised by a white adoptive family. They encourage her to find things that look like her. She goes out and makes brown brownies, finds brown sand, brown boots and jacket. This is great for any child of color because it teaches them to be proud of the brown of their skin and to love it. It is a beautiful color even if no one else looks like you.

book is great for young readers. It teaches diversity and self-worth. Children should know of each other's differences and appreciate them. This can be gerat for building self-worth in children of color.
